BOTANICAL PRICING

April 2025

PROCESS

We start by discussing size and subject matter. Let me know if there is a flower or tree that is special to you and your family. It is helpful for me to see a few examples of favorite pieces of my work to give me a good reference point. I will then make you a mock-up based on our discussions for you to approve before I begin.

A 50% non-refundable deposit holds your place on my calendar and is required to begin your project. Deposits being made currently have a completion date within 10 months of deposit. Always let me know if you are aiming for a specific deadline!

INSTALLATION OPTIONS

1. Signature Tapestry (most common): Emily will mount it ready to hang. There will be a wood strip at the top for installation and a metal rod sewn into a pocket at the bottom to add weight.

2. Raw Edge: The painting will come with a raw edge at the dimensions of the artwork. Typically framed floated under glass.

3. Stretch & Frame: Emily will leave 2 inches of extra fabric around all sides so your framer can stretch and then you can add a floater frame if you choose.

CONSTRUCTION AND DISPLAY

Artwork is made with charcoal pencils, egg tempera and gesso on artist-grade linen that I import from the River Leie region of Belgium.

The fabric is hanging by a strip of white oak and has a pocket sewn into the bottom for a strip of metal to add some weight.

CARE: Artwork is sprayed with a fixative to set the charcoal and protect it from the sun. Wrinkles from transport can be safely steamed out like you would draperies.

The charcoal is fixed to the touch, but be careful not to drape it over itself or anything the charcoal could stain. When moving, it is best to roll it starting from the bottom and moving upward.

Artwork is shipped rolled. It can be stretched and framed or you can hang it loose, like a tapestry.
